365 Project | A Year Of Moments | Week 10 of 52

Another week gone and now we are in double digits. How time flies!

Week10_365

  • We had some serious rock-n-rollin’ happening one day. The boys found a toy guitar and the rest will be shared when Carter tries out for American Idol.
  • Gavin found a shoe brush that I picked up from some hotel or another when I was traveling for business. This made into a fine gun that was then used to shoot everyone and everything in sight.
  • T-Ball time! We signed Carter up for t-ball this year so we had to get him a glove that fits, a few practice t-balls, a tee to hit from and a few other things. I have a feeling he is totally going to be a daisy picker in the outfield.
  • St. Patrick’s Day is upon us soon and I haven’t made cookies in FOREVER. I busted out the royal icing recipe and pulled together some yummy cookies for my boys!
  • The weather is so up and down these day, as is typical for a Seattle spring. We are trying to get outside every possible chance we can and the teeter totter is an awesome place for two little boys to burn off energy.
  • I have Spring fever. Bad. I bought a bowl of hyacinths at Costco this week because I don’t have any in the yard. And now my kitchen smells yummy.
  • Today we got close to sixty degrees outside! Which meant we were playing out there from after lunch until dinner time. I love this photo because it shows how close they are in height, but behind a bench it still seems like they are still so far apart in size!

Last Bit Of Summer

While we have had some really nice days here of late (meaning no rain), we have had a lot of fog that hasn’t burned off by the end of the day. But today we actually got some lovely sunshine in the afternoon. I hauled the boys outside to run some laps around the yard because they needed to burn off some energy and were driving me crazy. So I grabbed my camera and brought it outside to see if I could catch any fall colors. What I found were a few of the surviving flowers in my garden – here is a beautiful burnt orange dahlia that was still hanging on despite the previous rains and cooler weather.

July Stuff

Happy August 1st! Here are a handful of photos from July that never saw the light of day (well, most of them) … I didn’t do any editing to these, they are pretty much just as shot, so don’t look too closely, haha. Even though I post throughout the month, I kind of like the idea of pulling together a collage at the month end – I have a few friends who do this and I always enjoy it. Here is my first quick attempt, I am sure that I will refine it each month, so let me know if you have any suggestions.

Quick run down of what is in here: Flowers from the yard, fourth of July ferry/parade/festivities, drawings for Grandma & Grandpa, family reunion weekend, Happy Birthday to Sandy & Ryan, & a couple of self portraits that I am trying to get better about doing. Enjoy!

And Here We Are

At the end of September while my parents were hanging out, we picked all the pumpkins from our pumpkin patch. That was the point in time when I also picked that giant dahlia. Anyway, my dad took a ton of photos of the kids and a couple of Jeremy and I. I finally got around to uploading them (yes dad, I will give you your USB drive back next time I see you) and he got a really nice one of Jeremy and I that I thought I would share. And of course I need to shout out thanks for taking these to my dad!

Bonus Shot on how HUGE that flower was (I still can’t believe it):

More Flowers

I think it is probably clear I walked around with my camera in my yard one evening after the kids when down to bed since all I have been posting are flower photos from my yard!

I have no idea what these are, I like them though and have them growing like crazy in one part of my garden. Colors are so rich and wonderful.
